Blessed light returns,
the sunset’s glow sliding north
painting Christmas Eve.
July 6th and 7th were big days in our community, our church and our family. Siobhan, along with three other young people, were confirmed into St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Dixon. Wyoming Bishop John Smylie visited our small parish for the confirmation, and to ordain my cousin, community leader Linda Fleming, as a priest in the Episcopal Church. The church has a way for congregations to “discern” from within their numbers, parishoners who might become deacons or priests. Several years ago, Linda was discerned, accepted the call, and spent a lot of time in study and training. This was an exciting time for our congregation, as we now have a local priest, and several young people newly confirmed. One of Linda’s first acts as priest was to baptize Torran Duncan.
Linda is the oldest of eight children, and all of her living brothers and sisters came to celebrate the day.
